With our society's growing reliance on technology, the issues of computer and network security have become increasingly important. It seems that every few months there is another major security flaw that is exploited to expose the confidential information of governments, corporations, or individuals. This longread looks at a computer scientist who is rethinking the entire paradigm of the computer to try to identify long-term solutions to ensure cyber-security.

I think they're going down a tough path...any solution you find with computer programming will spur hackers to solve it. every advance that is made is countered by an attack. i'm sure there is more too it but i'm not sure what a "fail" proof system really is or how it could even be remotely possible.
ReplyDeleteI think it is entirely possible that this effort will fail, but I think your point is why they are trying to build a new computer from the ground up. As long as we operate in the existing framework of computers/networks, it is inevitable that we will face new attacks by hackers.
ReplyDeleteI thought this was a cool profile, though, and if there's someone who can design a hacker-proof system, I think it may be this dude.
