Longread #361 -- Bootleggers Ball -- 8/5/13

Having seen my fair share of shows by jambands, I have on many occasions experienced the desire to recreate the concert experience through recordings of live shows. This article looks at the die-hards of the world of concert taping and their adaption to changing technology.

  1. Interesting article, at the last phish shows we were noting some of the really impressive set ups from tapers. as was covered in the phish article a few weeks back it's a different and interesting business model. A large set of bands only translate through the live shows and just getting those out there is what makes it happen. With a band at the level of phish they could now argue they are better of making people go to livephish to buy the live shows but without tapers they would never have risen like they do. boogie on.
